Indie SP Develops Technology for Quick 2D-3D Conversion

Indie SP announced on 2 February that they have developed and applied a patent for a new technology capable of quickly converting 2D movies into 3D movies. This technology can be used to convert 2D movies, which were not initially designed to be watched as 3D, by utilizing specially designed software.
This is the second time for a Korean firm to have developed a conversion technology. The 3D movie industry has recently been receiving a lot of attention due to the success of the blockbuster Avatar. The conversion technology is getting a lot of attention because it would allow playing of old 2D movies in 3D in theatres and even on TV at home. Furthermore, 3D TVs have received a lot of limelight at the world¡¯s largest electronics show ¡®CES 2010¡¯ causing the 2D-3D conversion technology to rise as the new blue chip in electronics.
